The Rail Transit Signals and Control Program focuses on the field of rail transit signals and control by offering cross connectionknowledge in control science and engineering, electrical engineering, electronic science and technology, computer science and technology as well as information and communication engineering. It emphasizes rail transit signal system operation support and maintenance, fault diagnosis, repair and other engineering management expertise, and combines basic theory with modern rail transit signal control technology in application. The Program aims to cultivate senior engineering and practical talents who are competent in operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of rail transit signals and control system, and are capable of other job tasks in the rail transit industry. For the training goals of the Rail Transit Signals and Control Program, please refer to the English homepage of the School of Urban Railway Transportation (/curten/SignalswControl/list.htm).
After four years of study, students of the Program should have solid knowledge of mathematics, natural sciences, humanities and social sciences, systematically master basic theories, methods and skills required for rail transit signals and control, receive training in engineering and practice, acquire expertise in solving complex engineering problems, especially the professional knowledge of rail transit signals, interlocking control technology, and automatic train operation control, and keep up with the latest developments in the field. They should have computer application skills, be able to read English documents related to the Program, have the ability to communicate in English, and obtain the certificate of China’s College English Test Band 4 (CET-4). They should be team players and have the ability of organizing corporate operation and management. They should be able to use the knowledge they have learned to solve various engineering problems, be competent for various tasks, have excellent deep learning capabilities and brightcareer prospects.
